Subject: Swarm on Downing Street

Dear Charles,

*On Tuesday morning, David Cameron and his cabinet are going to sit down
and decide on the future of our bees. *[1] Nearly 150,000 of us have
already signed the petition demanding that he doesn?t allow banned Syngenta
pesticides to be used on our fields.

*At 8am on Tuesday morning*, we?re going to swarm on Downing Street and
hammer the message home in person. *We?re organising a public demonstration
outside Number 10*, so that as ministers arrive for the Cabinet meeting
they realise how much public anger there still is about this issue and
they?ll feel they?ve no choice but to protect our bees.

*Can you come along and swarm on Downing
Street?https://you.38degrees.org.uk/events/save-our-bees-swarm-on-downing-street
<https://secure.38degrees.org.uk/page/m/74c04448/2d5960ed/4addff61/465b7f7e/3484192940/VEsD/>*

*If you?re not able to make it on Tuesday morning, can you share the
petition with your friends and family? *The bigger we can make the
petition, the more impact it will have when we hand it in to the Prime
Minister.
*Please forward this email and ask them to click this link:

*Picture the scene inside the cabinet meeting.* David Cameron will have
just been given our huge people powered petition. Ministers will have
walked past a giant demonstration. They?ll be worried about the backlash if
they rebel against public and scientific opinion to allow a banned
bee-killer pesticide on our fields.

*Together we can make sure that ministers do the right thing and put our
planet before Syngenta?s profits.*

*Come along and swarm on Downing Street. Let?s have a sting in our tail.
Click here if you can come:

Thanks for everything you do,

Robin, Susannah, Maddy, Blanche and the 38 Degrees team.

PS: Let?s make this demonstration as big and colourful as possible. Come
dressed as bees, beekeepers, toxic pesticides or something even more
creative! Bring along a placard and dream up some great bee-related chants.
Let?s make sure our demo is buzzing in the ears of the cabinet members as
they head into their meeting.

Dear friends,

Does anyone have good photos of Southern March Orchis I could use for a note I'm doing on the landscape and wildlife of the area of Gatwick countryside that will be destroyed if the second runway is given the go-ahead.

I found two spikes of Southern Marsh Orchis there this year but didn't have my camera with me...and when I returned the next week they were gone. (Rabbits or deer, no doubt).

Obviously I will credit any pic I use in the note,

best
