From the National Park

Dear all,

We are currently doing some work to develop a 'shared identity' for the
South Downs National Park. We are currently running workshop events and
a survey both with staff and external partners. I have been asked to
forward this to members of the landscape TWG as this may be of interest,
and we would value your contribution. Please feel free to forward this
on to anyone that you think would be keen to contribute to this work.
Many thanks!

Chris Fairbrother, Strategy Lead, Landscapes

Help us to understand what you think and feel about your South Downs
National Park

As many of you will already know we are working with many partners
across the South Downs to develop a 'shared identity' for the National
Park. In practical terms this will eventually result in a toolkit of
imagery, language, and design elements for use by all businesses,
organisations and communities that want to create consistent, powerful
and coherent communications about the South Downs and show that they are
part of their National Park. This can add value and provenance to your
communications about your own communities, businesses, organisations or
products and services. Showing you are part of the South Downs National
Park is in itself a guarantee of a quality location.

As a first step we need to find out what you think and feel about your
National Park. This research will underpin and lead to the development
of the toolkit of imagery, language and design elements etc. We have
developed an online survey to gather the thoughts and ideas of as many
people as possible. The questions and format for responses are designed
to give us the information we need to understand what people think and
feel about the South Downs National Park.

We would be very grateful if you could take a few minutes to complete
the survey which will only take about 5 minutes and can be accessed
here:

https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/SDNPsharedidentity_public
<https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/SDNPsharedidentity_public> . The
closing date for responses is Monday 16th December.

We have been running public workshops to understand what people think
and feel about their National Park and they have almost all been fully
booked, with positive feedback coming from participants. If you have
attended a workshop and contributed to this project, we thank you and
are grateful for your valuable input. This online survey is a
particularly good opportunity to hear from those who have not attended a
workshop. However we very much welcome participation by all who may wish
to contribute their thoughts and opinions in this way. The more
responses we get, the more evidence we will have to support the
successful development of a shared identity.

Thank you
