Presumably it is the wild life aspect of the meadow that concerns the users
of this list rather than any possible social implications.

Does the meadow have designated nature conservation status? If so then the
new owner has to look after the meadow properly. If not can we get it
designated? If so for which features? No mention is made of fungi. Often
autumn brings up wax caps which can be used as an indicator of grassland
diversity.

Tony Greenstein thinks that the church of the 1833 poor law has not changed.
Some may think the 1833 poor law should be reinstated but that is not the
issue for the wildlife trust, it is whether the meadow should and can be
protected by legislation. Otherwise the land can and will be sold off by the
church to the highest bidder who will do what they like with it.
